The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) announces Dr. Drew Pinsky of “Loveline” will kick off AACD 2015 in San Francisco at an opening general session May 6. Dr. Pinsky is one of several headliners the AACD has recently confirmed for its annual meeting, which will take place May 6-9 at the Moscone Convention Center.
Dr. Pinsky is a practicing physician, board certified in internal medicine, board certified in addiction medicine and a member of the staff at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Pinsky is also assistant clinical professor of Ppsychiatry at the Keck USC School of Medicine. He starred in the reality series "Celebrity Rehab," which chronicled celebrity addictions.
He is the host of HLN’s "Dr. Drew on Call," and host of the nationally syndicated radio show, "Loveline," where he has taken calls from listeners about love, sex, and relationships since 1984. Other general session speakers include The Passing Zone, and Phil Hansen.
The Passing Zone, Jon and Owen, don't just talk about teamwork—they DO teamwork. The Passing Zone will teach dental practices to be high-performance teams. It takes trust, cooperation, communication, and practice. Chainsaws fly through the air, audience members become part of the team, and the group will laugh, gasp, and wipe tears from their eyes during this hilarious keynote from one of America’s most dynamic performing duos.
In art school, Phil Hansen developed an unruly tremor in his hand that kept him from creating the pointillist drawings he loved. Hansen was devastated, floating without a sense of purpose. Until a neurologist made a simple suggestion: embrace this limitation ... and transcend it.
Course selection for AACD 2015 opens on December 5. Conference registration is required before attendees can choose courses. General sessions are included in tuition and are open to all members of the dental team or lab. AACD is offering $150 off tuition rates for those who register before April 17. Early registration is encouraged. Non-members are welcome to attend AACD 2015 and annual membership is included in their tuition price.
AACD 2015 is an all-inclusive meeting; there are no extra fees for any hands-on workshop or course. Attendees also receive generous hospitality benefits, including breakfasts, lunches, and evening receptions with cocktails and snacks. The AACD’s Opening Welcome Reception, which takes place on the evening of May 6, will offer entertainment, food, and beverages. A spouse/guest program is available for dental professionals who wish to bring their families.
